Auditions for Constellations

Bangkok Community Theatre is holding open auditions for our upcoming production of Constellations, a “metaphysical romance” by Nick Payne. We welcome men and women of any nationality, aged 25-45, interested in performing live for an English-speaking production in Bangkok, November 2022.

Constellations is an award-winning play that follows Marianne, a physicist, and Roland, a beekeeper, who meet by chance at a barbecue. We watch their journey of life together — what it is, what it has been, and what it might be like– as the play weaves in and out of the infinite possibilities of a single relationship. We glimpse into the multiple universes that pull their lives in different directions. Boy meets girl, or doesn’t. Girl meets boy, or not. They live happily ever after, or do they? Funny, moving, and intimate, the story ultimately lifts us up by reminding us how precious any given moment can truly be. 

The auditions will be held on Saturday, August 27th at Bistro 33, on Sukhumvit 33.* Auditions begin at 14:00, with registration at 13:30; however, time slots will be assigned in small groups to manage social distancing. You will be asked to act from a script and probably do some improvisation or movement work, both solo and with your group. If this sounds daunting don’t worry! The atmosphere is very informal, and everyone is very supportive and helpful.
*Audition by video submission may be available; ask upon registry

Non-performing roles may be available, including sound operation, set dresser, front of house staff, and more. No experience is necessary; we are delighted to welcome enthusiastic, reliable people to the exciting and rewarding world of live theatre.
