The BOB Awards are coming!
As many of you know, BCT has a long tradition of handing out “Bob” Awards at our February Annual General Meetings. However, with the pandemic eliminating live productions and forcing the AGMs online, we have not yet awarded these coveted trophies for the 2020 and 2021 calendar years.
Rather than wait for a time when we feel it is safe to hold an in-person event, we have decided to try something different and to award the Bobs for the last two years online, with a series of daily announcements!
Starting on April 25th, we will announce the nominees for the first category on our Facebook Private Members Group, and then the next day we will announce the winner. We will continue with that pattern until all the awards have been distributed. We will also send out a round up email.
The Bob Awards will be given to those BCT members who, during the past two years, have distinguished themselves in some hilarious way, either on stage, in front of the camera, or behind the scenes. Unlike other awards by names such as ‘Oscar’ or ‘Tony,’ you’ll find ‘Bob’ to be a more a more friendly, tongue-in-cheek fellow, with a remarkably low propensity toward unexpected violence. Categories could include: Best Ad-Lib, Saving the Day, Missing-in-Action, or Beyond the Call of Duty– to name but a few!
We hope by sharing the nominations of past shenanigans, everyone will enjoy a walk down memory lane, and we can celebrate the creative projects we have managed to achieve in the last two years.
