About the Show

This bawdy British adult romp is based on the classic BBC TV comedy series starring the late, great and much-loved Frankie Howerd. Frankie played the hapless slave Lurcio, who tries to hold everything together in the household of his Master and Mistress, Ludicrous Sextus and Ammonia, in the shadow of the soon to erupt Mt. Vesuvius.

This hilarious farce was directed by Ian Robinson and produced by John Wright who had previously worked together on BCT’s smash hit pantomime Cinderella, where they played the Ugly Sisters, Pat and Pong. This time, John had the unenviable task of stepping into Frankie’s sandals, while Ian was simply Ludicrous. They were joined on stage by other BCT stalwarts including Bonnie Zellerbach as Ammonia as well as a number of new members.
