Shipwrecked

Directed by: Cian Green
Produced by: Bonnie Zellerbach

Fresh on the heels of Bangkok Community Theatre’s sell-out productions of the hit-Broadway musical “Once on this Island” and the swashbuckling staging of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” earlier this year, BCT will be back on stage this September with an imaginative storyteller production of Shipwrecked! An Entertainment -The Amazing Adventures of Louis d Rougemont (As Told By Himself)

A multi-national ensemble cast of seven performers will bring this tale to life on stage at Creative Industries at M Theatre.

About the Show/Synopsis

The adventurous Louis de Rougemont invites you to hear his amazing story of bravery, survival and celebrity that left nineteenth-century England spellbound. Dare to be whisked away in a story of the high seas, populated by exotic islanders, flying wombats, giant sea turtles and a monstrous man-eating octopus. “Shipwrecked”  examines how far we’re willing to blur the line between fact and fiction in order to leave our mark on the world. “Shipwrecked” is pure story telling theatre. Although Louis is the main ‘star’ he cannot tell his story without the rest of the cast. Multiple characters will appear from nowhere and melt away in an instant. Random objects on stage will suddenly come to life as something else entirely. “Shipwrecked” is a perfect example of how to capture an audience with the ‘magic’ of theatre.

The show will be performed in English and will offer fun-filled entertainment for the whole family – age 6 to 96!

The show runs approximately 90 minutes with no intermission.
