The Emperor's New Clothes

What an exciting way to keep theatre alive!

Bangkok Community Theatre made a dramatic entrance back onstage in 2022 with a delightful, interactive fairytale production for young children: The Emperor’s New Clothes

A multi-national ensemble cast of five performers plus a musician brought this classic, favorite fairy tale to life on stage at Baan Rim Naam, a breezy, open-air restaurant down by the river in Chinatown.

Families and their little ones delighted to BCT’s wonderfully inventive and interactive version of The Emperor’s New Clothes twice daily throughout the weekend of January 29 & 30, 2022.

The kids (and their parents!) thrilled at this unique type of live theatre staged to stimulate the imagination and involve the audience in the action throughout. Children even came dressed in costume to add to the fun!

The fun started early, as Bangkok Patana School provided simple craft activities for the young guests, and the children used them when participating in the show. The venue Baan Rim Naam also provided a small snack from their delicious family-friendly menu.

With magic and mime, mischief and mayhem, The Emperor’s New Clothes proved to be a memorable family experience.

We would like to thank Bangkok Patana School, Baan Rim Naam, and Tenderloins Bistro 33 for their generous support of this magical production.

With thanks
