BCT offers a range of workshops ranging from acting to producing throughout the year. These are open to non-members of BCT for a small entry fee, which makes them a great way to find out more if you’re thinking about joining us. BCT Members are eligible for a discount on all workshops.

Membership

Whether you love being on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience, BCT is for you. English doesn’t have to be your first language, and you’re welcome whatever your level of experience. As a member you’re encouraged to take part in BCT shows and activities however you like, even if that’s just to meet new friends.

AUDITION NOTICE

Bangkok Community Theatre is holding auditions for Shipwrecked.

Fit and able actors and actresses need for extraordinary live performance of epic proportions.

Auditions will be held at Bistro 33 on Sukumvit Soi 33

Saturday June 8th at 1pm

Sunday June 9th at 1pm

We are looking for:
3 principal roles (1 female/2 males)
5-6 ensemble members

Age: 17+
Any nationality and able to communicate in English

The adventurois Louis de Rougemont invites you to hear his amazing story of bravery, survival and celebrity that left nineteenth-century England spellbound. Dare to be whisked away in a story of high seas, populated by exotic islanders, flying wombats, giant sea turtles and a monstrous man-eating octopus! SHIPWRECKED examines how far we’re willing to blur the line between fact and fiction in order to leave our mark on the world.

SHIPWRECKED recreates the pleasures of nineteenth-century platform entertainment with a tart contemporary twist and gives the central self-promoting fabulist a forum to inform and persuade. SHIPWRECKED definitely delights in both respects.

Performances will be on the last weekend of September & first weekend of October.

Auditionees will be asked to try a couple of scenes with script in hand with a few other people. You may be asked to read a monologue or try a new character. Please do not memorise the audition scenes.
