Online Play Reading: 84 Charing Cross Road

Tuesday October. 11th at 7:30pm (7:15pm sign in)

Bangkok Community Theatre is continuing their evening online play reading sessions in 2022.  Since BCT is also working to get back to live productions, we will try to hold two online play readings each month rather than 4 as we did in the past. Each time we choose a new script and share it with the participants in advance. Then we get together and read the play aloud on zoom, regularly switching up the roles so that everyone gets a chance to read, if they wish. Some BCT friends don’t want to read; they just like to listen. That’s okay, too.

ABOUT THE PLAY

84 Charing Cross Road is a 1970 book by Helene Hanff, later made into a stage play, television play, and film, about the twenty-year correspondence between the author and Frank Doel, chief buyer of Marks & Co antiquarian booksellers, located at the eponymous address in London, England.
Please confirm ASAP whether you will join (and if you want to read or not) so that we can send you both the link to the room and the link to download the script. Knowing attendance numbers makes it much easier to divide the parts so please RSVP soon. Remember to log in by 7:15 at the latest so that we can assign parts and start reading at 7:30pm at the latest. If possible, please also keep your camera on and stay for the entire reading to show your support for the work and all the readers.
Note: BCT Online Play Readings are for Adults and Students age 16+ unless otherwise specified.  If you are not already a BCT member, please consider joining to help support  the society. Email: membership@bangkokcommunitytheatre.comfor details.
