BCT's July 5th Online Play Reading of Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead @ Online

Bangkok Community Theatre is continuing their evening online play reading sessions in 2022. Since BCT is also working to get back to live productions, we will try to hold two online play readings each month rather than 4 as we did in the past. Each time we choose a new script and share it with the participants in advance. Then we get together and read the play aloud on zoom, regularly switching up the roles so that everyone gets a chance to read, if they wish. Some BCT friends don’t want to read; they just like to listen. That’s okay, too.

These play readings are open to anyone who wants to join age 16+! Just email: RSVP@bangkokcommunitytheatre.com to get the link. It’s free and a great way to meet some other people who enjoy live theatre and to practice your performing skills as well.. Please join us; tell your friends.

On Tuesday, July 5th, 2022 at 7:30pm (7:15 sign in), please join us to read Rosencrantz & Guildennstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard

ABOUT THE PLAY
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead is an absurdist, existential tragicomedy by Tom Stoppard, first staged at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1966. The play expands upon the exploits of two minor characters from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, the courtiers Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. The main setting is Denmark.

The action of Stoppard’s play takes place mainly “in the wings” of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, with brief appearances of major characters from Hamlet who enact fragments of the original’s scenes. Between these episodes the two protagonists voice their confusion at the progress of events occurring onstage without them in Hamlet, of which they have no direct knowledge.
