BCT's January 19th Online Play Reading of "The Man Who Came to Dinnner" @ Online | Bangkok | Thailand

Bangkok Community Theatre holds regular weekday evening online play readings at 7:30pm. Each week we choose a new script and share it with the participants in advance. Then we get together and read the play aloud on zoom, regularly switching up the roles so that everyone gets a chance to read, if they wish. Some BCT friends don’t want to read; they just like to listen. That’s okay, too.

These play readings are open to anyone who wants to join! Just email: RSVP@bangkokcommunitytheatre.com to get the link. It’s free and a great way to meet some other people who enjoy live theatre. Please join us; tell your friends.

On Tuesday, January 19th, 2021 at 7:30pm (7:15 sign in), please join us to read Kauffman & Hart’s classic comedy “The Man Who Came To Dinner.”

ABOUT THE PLAY:
The Man Who Came to Dinner is a comedy in three acts by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart. It debuted on October 16, 1939, at the Music Box Theatre in New York City, where it ran until 1941, closing after 739 performances. It then enjoyed a number of New York and London revivals.

SYNOPSIS:
The play is set in the small town of Mesalia, Ohio in the weeks leading to Christmas in the late 1930s. The exposition reveals that the famously outlandish New York City radio wit Sheridan Whiteside (‘Sherry’ to his friends) is invited to dine at the house of the well-to-do factory owner Ernest W.
