BCT's Tuesday Sept. 22nd Online Play Reading “An Ideal Husband"

Bangkok Community Theatre holds regular weekday evening online play readings at 7:30pm. Each week we choose a new script and share it with the participants in advance.

Then we get together and read the play aloud on zoom, regularly switching up the roles so that everyone gets a chance to read, if they wish. Some BCT friends don’t want to read; they just like to listen. That’s okay, too.
These play readings are open to anyone who wants to join! Just email: RSVP@bangkokcommunitytheatre.com to get the link.

It’s free and a great way to meet some other people who enjoy live theatre. Please join us; tell your friends.
On Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020 at 7:30pm (7:15 sign in), please join us to read Oscar Wilde’s witty comedy “An Ideal Husband”

ABOUT THE PLAY
An Ideal Husband is an 1895 stage play by Oscar Wilde that revolves around blackmail and political corruption, and touches on the themes of public and private honour. The action is set in London, in “the present”, and takes place over the course of twenty-four hours. This play is a must read for all of Oscar Wilde aficionados. The story revolves around the blackmail scheme that forces a woman to re-examine the moral standards that she expects from her husband. Through amazing wit and astonishing uses of figure of speech, Wilde explores British high society and the ethical purity that politicians falsely claims.
