Behind the Scenes

About the Show

In this delightful comedy, Horace Vandergelder, a penny-pinching store owner, refuses to let his niece Ermengarde marry the poor artist she’s in love with, although he himself plans to remarry. Dolly Levi, the matchmaker of the title, pretends that she is helping Vandergelder to find a bride, but she is really scheming to marry him herself, and along the way helps others lovers find their matches. Meanwhile, Vandergelder’s clerks, Cornelius and Barnaby, set out to find adventure in the big city, and end up with more than they had bargained for, as everyone’s paths cross!
